Trick or Treat!!!

Introducing:
Caleb as the "Storm Trooper"

Kathryn as "Fawn, the Wild Rose Animal Fairy" from Tinkerbell

 Clayton as "Thomas the Train"

Mimi and Grampy came by to see the costumes and bid them happy Trick or Treating!  They were ready to go get that candy!

Thomas is ready to get going on the track!

Clayton lasted about 7 houses and then he was ready to go home and go to bed!  Bless his heart, the costume was hard to walk in down the long road, but he was a trooper.  He LOVED being Thomas!

Caleb and Kathryn enjoyed trick or treating with our 2 neighbors!

Exhausted after a long night going up and down the street!  They got lots of candy :)

Russ carved this awesome pumpkin for the kids.  Can you guess which child got to choose the design?

We had a great Halloween and enjoyed every minute of it.  The kids love their candy and I've been enjoying the stash since they've gone to bed :)

How is It Already Time for School???

Last night, we had 2 very excited kids anxious to start school this morning at our new Elementary School right outside of our neighborhood. Caleb is starting 2nd grade and Kathryn is starting Kindergarten!   We had met the teachers a few days before, the book bags were packed and were sitting by the door and Caleb and Kathryn could hardly wait!

We read Kathryn's new Kindergarten book

We put the special confetti that her new teacher had given her under her pillow.  It was meant to bring a good night's rest and sweet dreams of kindergarten :)

Of course, Caleb wanted some of the special confetti too!

We were up bright and early this morning to get ready for the first day!

Here is Caleb at his new desk ready to start the day!

How is it possible that Kathryn is already going to Kindergarten?  I don't know where the time went, but she is definitely ready!

She walked right into her classroom and didn't turn back!  She has a very sweet teacher and I was so proud at how confident she was in her new classroom.  She has really matured a lot over the summer.

By the way they looked when I picked them up this afternoon, they had a GREAT day!

They got home to a special surprise waiting for them on the table ~ a "School Rocks" cookie cake!

Let's hope this excitement continues for the rest of the school year!

Happy Birthday Kathryn Rose!

Happy 5th Birthday to our sweet Kathryn Rose!  Wow, where has the past 5 years gone?  She is getting so big now and we are so proud of the precious young girl she is becoming.  We have enjoyed celebrating her birthday over the last few weeks!

On her actual birthday, July 23, we had a small party for her with our family.  She got to take have her close friend Claire come over to play and then we all went to Chuck E Cheese to play some more!

We were so excited to give Kathryn her first American Girl doll!  She is a "look a like" doll and Kathryn named her "Lizzie."  Kathryn was soooo excited to get her and she loves her!

A few weeks later on August 5 we celebrated Kathryn's birthday with her friends.  Kathryn chose to have a Hello Kitty Mermaid pool party at Mimi and Grampy's pool! She had 9 of her little friends to come and splash and play in the pool.  It was a beautiful day and the girls had a fabulous time splashing and playing in the pool!

She even had another little party when we were at the beach earlier in the summer with her cousin, Flynn!   We are partied out now!

It has been so long since my last blog post that I have SO many pictures to share!  I can't believe our summer is just about over, but here are some of the memories we have made.  It has been a wonderful summer!

Here are some pictures of our trips to the beach:

We celebrated my mother's birthday:

Kathryn did a week long ballet camp with some of her friends:

Caleb did also did a week long art camp and a creek camp at Paris Mountain State Park, but unfortunately I have not pictures of those :(

Goodbye Summer, Hello School!
